Salt chamber therapy, or halotherapy, disperses pharmaceutical‑grade salt into a controlled room. When inhaled, dry salt can thin mucus, reduce certain bacteria, and soothe irritated skin—mimicking the microclimate of therapeutic salt caves.

At Elysian Institute, our Salt Therapy (also called Halotherapy) sessions take place in a special room where medical-grade salt is gently dispersed into the air using a machine called a halogenerator. As you relax and breathe in the tiny salt particles, they travel through your airways and settle on your skin. Salt is naturally anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and helps loosen mucus. This can support easier breathing, soothe irritated airways, and help clear toxins from the lungs and sinuses. It may also improve skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis by calming inflammation and reducing bacteria on the skin’s surface. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and breathe—your body does the rest.
Salt therapy is generally very safe and well tolerated, especially since it uses natural, drug-free ingredients. However, some people may notice mild, temporary effects such as:
